How to get to Cuba

There are 17 airports in Cuba, 11 of which can handle international flights.  The network of roads—which is around 31,000 miles (50,000 kilometers) long, including around 12,400 miles (20,000 kilometers) of highways and other paved roads—links all of the population centers and tourist resorts.  Taxis, rental cars and other transportation options are available at all hotels and villas.  There are also tourist buses for trips to many resorts, and other bus companies provide bus transportation to other places in Cuba.  Some trains have special compartments for tourists, and several airlines provide charter flights inside Cuba.

aeropuertos_50The main way to get to Cuba is by air.  The country has ten international airports, which handle flights by over 50 airlines from 28 countries.

puerto_50If you prefer to come by sea, on your own vessel, you can do so through the Hemingway Marina (in Havana); the Dársena, Chapelín and Gaviota Marinas (all at Varadero); the Cayo Coco-Cayo Guillermo Marina (in the Jardines del Rey Archipelago) or the Gaviota Bahía de Naranjo Marina (in Holguín Province)—all of which are on the northern coast—or, on the southern coast, through the María La Gorda International Scuba-Diving Center (in Pinar del Río Province), the Cayo Largo del Sur Marina (on Cayo Largo), the Cienfuegos Marina or the Punta Gorda Marina (in Santiago de Cuba Province).
