
Bayamo, current capital of the oriental Cuban province of Granma, has to its favor an almost 500 year-old history, it is in fact the second village been founded by the Spanish Diego Velázquez . The city also had the attractiveness of having been the capital of the Primera Republia en Armas the independence war of the XIX century, linked with the decision of its residents of setting on fire it before giving it in hands of the Spanish.
